Sunday afternoon, June 2nd, I was "turned over to" or "turned loose on"  Chic and Bridget.  Another truly wonderful couple.  Chic is a "lorrie driver"  and Bridget is Bridget!!  She sees to the people in her neighborhood, her friends at  St. Mary's and anyone else that she can be of service to.  I had worked for years in the trucking industry so Chic and I seemed to meet on  equal footing.  Although it was rainy, we had a great ride through the countryside, stopping at Wanlockhead

Wanlockhead

is located in beautiful South West Scotland in the Lowther Hills and is the highest village in Scotland at 1531ft. (463m) above sea level.  It lies 30 miles North of Dumfries and owes its existence to the mineral deposits in the surrounding hills.  Taken from their website  Lead Mining Museum

We even got to go into a mine.  This was an interesting tour and the story of the miners show what determined and strong people worked in such mines.
